Extremely Rare Rosenthal Porcelain Emilio Pucci Modernist Gold Pebble 1960 Teapot & Tray Teaset.
This listing consists only of: a 9" tall by 9" Spout to handle wide Teapot, a 9 1/2" by 14 1/2" tray, a 3" tall by 3 1/2" diameter covered Sugar, and a 2 3/4" tall creamer.
Please note that there are 5 cups, 5 saucers and 5 additional plates visible on pictures but they are sold separately with a separate listing.
Tonight we will be listing two separate listings of Metropol or "Gold Pebble" Pattern Rosenthal Porcelain. This pattern is very rare and it is difficult to even find other examples on the internet.
This pattern was designed by Emilio Pucci for Rosenthal Studio Line, and it was made in Germany circa 1960-1961.
Emilio Pucci (1914-1992) was an Italian aristocrat and a fashion designer known for his geometric & kaleidoscope print designs which we used in fabric, as well as on sets of Porcelain etc... Emilio Pucci's hand modernist styles are clearly evident this pattern of rounded-edge gold blocks, which decorate this Rosenthal Set.
As you can see these pieces are marked with an underglaze mark which reads "Rosenthal Germany" as well as Metropol, Baumann Bucci and Emilio Pucci's signature. The original 1960s, Emilio Pucci Studio Line, Modernist Porcelain Tea Set was hardly used if at all. There is no wear to gold, however there are a few very tiny marks from rubbing against each other in the cabinet.
If you search the internet you will find that examples from this golden Rosenthal Porcelain is very, very rare. The few examples that you will find have extremely high prices.
