Stunning large Measham Bargeware Victoria Pottery teapot with applied panel, c. 1898. Made of earthenware, the teapot features a treacly-brown glaze and is decorated with sprigged on clay that has been moulded into flowers and birds with an applied panel that reads MR JOHN BUTLIN NUNEATON 1898 . The lid displays a teapot finial, teapot is unmarked. Measures 12” high to top of finial x 7 ½” to top of spout x 12” long spout to handle and is in Excellent antique condition, note there is a tight, non-stuctural hairline at the interior rim as shown and a few cracks to the sprigged clay birds.
