Offered here is an early piece from the shop of Charles Dwight Yale (1810 - 1890), a maker of silver and pewter tableware. He was located in Wallingford Connecticut. The mark contains both Yale's name and location. The mark is light but there can be no doubt about the identity. T his teapot is marked "Brittiana" which is pewter without lead in the alloy to avoid the risk of harm. This piece has seen hard use over the years and has the dings to show it. There is also a clever repair to the hinge to replace the pin.
